Ancient paths to walk or cycle

Around our agriturismo some narrow paths unwinds through the meadow where among old chestnuts and oaks you may see a number of animals as deers, hares, pheasants, foxes besides protected birds and wildboars.

An old Roman road paved with stones takes you to the river Arno, until the bend where it is said Leonardo was inspired to paint the bridge that, at a closer look, you see behind Mona Lisa’s left shoulder.
This road was a connection to the Via Francigena, which pilgrims used to walk back from the 11th century to get to Rome.
